Just Doors QLD came to light when Adam had an idea of having an online door shop to save time quoting jobs 15 years ago.
His wife Nakettia had a boutique online sewing business and had some experience in creating retail websites. After a quick discussion, Adam thought he would build his own website for doors……. many years later it’s what we see now online!
It quickly developed from a small 9 square meter backyard shed into a 400 square warehouse in Bethania - directly behind Bunnings.
At this stage they thought they would franchise the business out and started searching for like minded people who could also successfully run a business and complete the same tasks they had to cover which included tasks such as quoting jobs, officework and admin duties, staining and painting, building and installing doors, manage orders, complete deliveries, build customer relationships and answer phones all with the same level of care and detail as they did……and realised that was proving to be more difficult that they thought.
After employing and subcontracting work they quickly found this was not ideal as the workmanship was not to their standards.
Soon Covid hit and their online store really become the heart of the business, as they no longer needed the large showrooms, the extra installers and warehouse, as living costs and expenses to run a business kept rising they made the calculated decision to stop trying to franchise out the Just Doors buisness and focus solely on providing high quality services to their customers and to make way for when their 4 small boys grow old enough to join the team. This shift in perspective allows a healthy work life balance whilst providing services they are proud to put their name to.
Just Doors QLD now see over 150 people a day viewing their online store and continue to service the South Brisbane to Gold Coast areas with installations and ship doors and hardware Australia wide- including their own hardware line.
With a generous sized shed, many doors are moving through the business each week so viewing of certain doors & samples is available by appointment only.
“This is where we want to be” Adam said. “A small family business with a big name who continues to sell and install doors at affordable prices, but with that extra effort on workmanship and quality we will continue through anything.”
